I recently felt the need to get out of town to catch one of my favorite guitar players performing at a small venue. Who wouldn’t jump at that chance?
The only glitch was that between a long–ish drive and a quick turnaround (and having been told that the hotel pool was not open) I didn’t have the luxury of hitting the workout room for more than a few minutes.
So… enter a superfast yoga wakeup routine (yup, it works any time of the day) followed by some bodyweight work, and…
POOF! Concert-ready and feeling refreshed.

- 10 minute wakeup yoga — Love this App! Yoga Studio (Gaiam, Inc. in your App store)
- Split Squat (stretching hip flexor – the front of your hip) x10 each leg
- 10 squat jumps.
- Air punches with a twist x30 — gotta get a little rotation in every day!
- Pushups — hands on the floor, bed, wall or bathroom counter, whatever works best for you
